Catalyst Constellations was founded by two people who spent their careers on opposite sides of the same problem: why good strategy so often fails to become real change. One spent two decades driving that change from inside the world's largest companies. One spent two decades studying why it succeeds or fails. They founded this firm to put both halves of the answer in the same room.
Catalyst Constellations began with a question: why do some people keep driving change forward when everyone around them seems ready to stop?
Shannon Lucas and Tracey Lovejoy approached that question from different backgrounds, but arrived at the same conclusion. The problem wasn't simply the people leading change. It was the environment surrounding them.
What began as a focus on Catalysts, the people who drive change inside organizations, led to a larger realization: even the most capable leaders struggle when the systems around them aren't built to support continuous change.
That insight still shapes every engagement we lead: what would it take for this organization to sustain change on its own?
I've been wired for change my whole life. In every organization I've ever been part of, I was the one pushing for what's next.
That instinct built real things at Ericsson, Cisco, Vodafone, and across some of the world's largest companies.
It also cost me. The friction, the resistance, the exhaustion of moving fast inside organizations that weren't built for it. I watched good strategy die in the gap between the boardroom and the org chart, over and over, regardless of how sound the numbers were.
What I built here came directly from that experience. Not a theory about change. A hard-won understanding of what it actually takes, and what gets in the way.
After twelve years at Microsoft, I left to start a coaching practice and found myself drawn to the same kind of leader again and again. They were the people challenging assumptions, spotting opportunities early, and pushing organizations to evolve.
I became fascinated by what made them effective. The deeper I looked, the more I realized their success depended on more than individual capability. Organizational systems either amplified their impact or constrained it.
What began as a study of individual leaders became a broader question: what allows an organization to absorb change, adapt, and keep moving forward? The answers now shape every engagement we lead.
Experience tells you what's possible. Research reveals what makes it sustainable.
We built this firm on both.
